For those of you who came here expecting to find the Acme's page, sorry to say that the Acme's ended their illustrious career a few years back! Steve and I had the opportunity to play again with one of the Acme Alumni, Evan Morgan on guitar. (We all played together under the Acme name a number of years back but Evan left us to persue other musical interests.) Well, he's back with us along with Sue Walters on bass. We're all glad to be playing together again and bringing some high powered Old Time music to a new time.
You can still hear the Acme's on our mp3 page and a 1998 album that Steve, Evan and I recorded in Santa Rosa, Ca.
We/ve played all over the place in Northern California and parts East. Sue has played with some of the best Bluegrass bands in the bay area (and still does), Evan, a great blues and rock guitar player, puts his amp and strat away for our gigs and adds an exciting sound to the generally sedate guitar playing of old time music, Steve and Chris, the longest surviving members of this conglomeration, are still doing what they do best. Play and sing the music that they love.
This is a band that is really worth checking out if you get a chance.
